Screen Media Films has nabbed U.S. release rights to the hybrid-documentary The Secret Disco Revolution. The distributor plans a June 2013 theatrical release of the film, which features interviews with Gloria Gaynor, Thelma Houston, The Village People and Kool & the Gang, and contains music and footage from the 70s era of music and culture.
Written, directed and produced by Jamie Kastner, the film is described as an idiosyncratic journey into the moral-political-aesthetic soul of disco. I just think it’s gonna be a lot of fun to see the era up on the big screen again.
