First shot of Kelly McGillis’ return to the silver screen in vampire thriller Stake Land – plus more

EW first published the image of Top Gun star Kelly McGillis, who returns to the big screen for the first time in nearly a decade for the vampire thriller Stake Land, which premieres on September 17th at the Toronto International Film Festival. I visited the official website for Stake Land, and found some additional images, that preview this story of a fierce, alternative vision of America’s bleak future, centering on a young boy named Martin (Connor Paolo), who lived a normal teenage life before the country collapsed in an empty pit of economic and political disaster. A vampire epidemic somehow sweeps across what’s left of the nation’s abandoned cities, and a death dealing, rogue vampire hunter named Mister (Nick Damici), along with McGillis, attempts to get the boy safely north to Canada, the continent’s New Eden.

Stake Land, directed by Jim Mickle, stars Danielle Harris, Kelly McGillis, Bonnie Dennison, Connor Paolo, Michael Cerveris, Chance Kelly, Adam Scarimbolo, Sean Nelson, Marianne Hagan, Nick Damici, Stuart Rudin, Lou Sumrall, Graham Reznick and Brian Spears.
