A brief teaser trailer is online for 2012. Like most summer blockbusters, the film will probably look very different by the time it hits theaters on July 10, 2009. But the special effects do look sweet. How much hope can you really have for this film though.

The focus of 2012 is the Mayan calendar ending in 2012, which forces a large group of people to deal with natural disasters including volcanic eruptions, typhoons and glaciers.

The Roland Emmerich film stars John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Danny Glover, Thandie Newton, Oliver Platt, Thomas McCarthy, Woody Harrelson, Chin Han, Morgan Lily and Beatrice Rosen.
