Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver take on kidnap thriller Cold Light of Day

Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver are set to star with Henry Cavill (The Count of Monte Cristo, Stardust, Tristan + Isolde) in the kidnap thriller The Cold Light of Day, according to HeatVision.

Mabrouk El Mechri, who directed the faux Jean-Claude Van Damme documentary JCVD, will helm the movie, with Intrepid Pictures’ Trevor Macy and Marc D. Evans producing.

Cold Light of Day centers on a cocky young Wall Street trader (Cavill) who reluctantly vacations with his family in Spain. When his family is kidnapped, he is thrust into a government conspiracy and must unravel the secrets of his father (Willis) in order to save his loved ones.
Weaver would play the villain, assuming her deal, which is still in negotiations, goes through.

Oscar-nominee Richard Price (Sea of Love, Shaft, Freedomland) is rewriting the original script written by Scott Wiper and John Petro. The movie is scheduled to start lensing in early September in Spain.
