Trailer for Vantage Point director’s new thriller Endgame

Endgame takes place in 1985 South Africa, when the country is under siege, Mandela’s imprisonment is an international cause celebré, and ANC guerrilla terrorist attacks are escalating. Working for P.W. Botha as a somewhat Machiavellian Head of Intelligence, Dr. Neil Barnard opens furtive talks with the imprisoned Mandela.

Lesser known are the secret talks that take place in the unlikely setting of a rural English manor house, arranged by a British businessman and sponsored by a mining company. The stakes are immense, the secrecy imperative. Against all the odds, and through volatile discussion, intrigue and breakthroughs, the unimaginable is achieved – a frail trust between two warring parties.

Endgame – written by Paula Milne and directed by Pete Travis – stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Mark Strong, William Hurt, Jonny Lee Miller, Derek Jacobi and Clarke Peters.
