Baywatch movie gets new writer for comedy focus

Paramount Pictures has contracted Jeremy Garelick to rewrite and direct a Baywatch film adaptation, a comedy based on the popular syndicated TV series about attractive lifeguards who patrol a beach in California, according to Variety.

The project will mark the directing debut for Garelick, a writer who most recently did an uncredited rewrite on The Hangover script with Todd Phillips, and has wrote screenplays for Murray at Large and The Insane Laws.

According to reports, the Baywatch movie is likely to be made, so get ready for cheesy music and tantalizing boobs running down the beach all over again.
