DiCaprio Moves to Cradle

Leonardo DiCaprio’s production company, Appian Way, will develop and produce a feature film based on Kurt Vonnegut’s classic sci-fi novel Cat’s Cradle in partnership with producer Hillard Elkins’ Elkins Entertainment, Variety reported. James V. Hart (who wrote Sahara) and his son, Jake Hart, will write the script, based on Vonnegut’s apocalyptic tale about earth’s ultimate fate and a race to recover the world’s most dangerous substance: Ice-Nine, a new form of ice that freezes at room temperature, the trade also reported.

Cat’s Cradle marks the second collaboration between Hart and his son; the duo is also writing The Omega Stone for Critical Mass Entertainment.
