This red band trailer for The Evil Dead remake answers the question: will the vines return

The Evil Dead remake footage that played during this year’s New York Comic-Con is now online and appropriately, it’s age-gated.

Sam Raimi’s original Evil Dead was released in 1981 and quickly became a cult hit, building huge careers for Raimi and lead star Bruce Campbell, who is producing the remake along with Raimi. The director’s chair has been given to filmmaker Fede Alvarez, who wowed Sam Raimi with his 2009 short film Panic Attack, which led to a $30 million production with Raimi’s company.

The Evil Dead stars Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Jessica Lucas and Lou Taylor Pucci. The film hits theaters on April 12, 2013.
