Joseph Gordon-Levitt character revealed for The Dark Knight Rises

Variety reported that Joseph Gordon-Levitt has officially signed on to star in The Dark Knight Rises, re-teaming with his Inception director Christopher Nolan. We’ve now learned that Gordon-Levitt has been cast as Alberto Falcone, the son of Mafia leader Carmine Falcone, the character Tom Wilkinson played in Batman Begins.

Nolan is apparently making final adjustments to the script and will begin shooting this May, with plans to have The Dark Knight Rises in theaters on July 20, 2012.
