In case you haven’t already watched it, here’s the first trailer for The Green Hornet, starring Seth Rogen as the masked namesake vigilante, and Jay Chou (Kung Fu Dunk, The Legend of Beggar Su) as the martial arts-wielding sidekick who stole the show in the 1966 cult TV adventure series, when the legendary Bruce Lee donned the black cap.
While it had a lot of typical Rogen humor moments, I actually liked the trailer much more than I thought I would. But Columbia Pictures is going to have to go a long way to ease the concerns of diehard fans of the Van Williams/Bruce Lee TV show.
The Green Hornet also stars Cameron Diaz, Christoph Waltz, Edward Furlong, Tom Wilkinson, Edward James Olmos, Chad Coleman and Analeigh Tipton, and hits theaters on January 14, 2011. Michel Gondry is directing the remake.
