According to Worst Previews, while he was in Germany to promote his latest thriller Shutter Island, director Martin Scorsese fielded a bunch of off-topic questions, including whether or not he will make another Mafia film in the vein of Goodfellas.

Scorsese first exclaimed that he was done with the genre, but then revealed that he and Robert De Niro have been talking about “something that has to do with that world. No doubt about it. But it’s from the vantage point of older men looking back. None of this running around stuff.”

It wasn’t clear if Scorsese was referring to a completely new project or if he’s considering a sequel to a previous film. There were rumors of a sequel to his classic 1976 thriller Taxi Driver at one point, but nothing has materialized as of yet.
