Jude Law and Robert De Niro to appear in Branagh’s Thor feature film

Actor Matthias Schweighofer (Valkyrie) revealed to GQ magazine that he is close to nabbing a role in Kenneth Branagh’s Thor and that both Jude Law and Robert De Niro have already been cast, according to AICN. Branagh has worked with both actors previously: He directed De Niro in the 1994 film Frankenstein and Jude Law in the 2007 thriller Sleuth.

If this holds, the three join already cast Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, Colm Feore and Chris Hemsworth as the hammer wielding Mighty Thor, along with rumored cast members Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, and Stellan Skarsgård.

For those of you unfamiliar with Hemsworth, he played Kale in the thriller A Perfect Getaway.

Thor is expected to be released on May 20, 2011.
