The Descent 2 to headline Film 4 Frightfest 2009

Film 4 Frightfest is the UK’s premiere fantasy and horror film festival. Now in its tenth year, each August thousands of genre fans gather together in the heart of London’s West End at the prodigious Empire Cinema for five packed days of premieres, previews, personal appearances, signings and surprises.

For the first time in the event’s history, the films will be shown on two screens. The Main Screen will show the biggest films, including premieres and larger budget movies and the Discovery Screen will play some of the more risque and indie projects, along with doubling up on some of the films, to give folks the chance to see them if they missed them on The Main Screen.

Probably the standout at this year’s festival will be the premiere screening of the Jon Harris-directed sequel to Neil Marshall’s cult favorite subterranean horror The Descent – The Descent: Part 2.

Dates: August 27-31, 2009
Location: The Empire Cinema, Leicester Square, London
