Watch the planet get ripped apart in this 2012 trailer

I have not idea why 2012 isn’t being released this summer. It looks like the kind of summer smash-up ripe for “tentpole” status. Well, it not due in theaters until November 13, 2009, but Emmerich just released the full trailer for the film, which gives more info on the storyline, characters and sheer scale of destruction.

The Roland Emmerich-directed film stars John Cusack, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Danny Glover, Thandie Newton and Oliver Platt.
