Additional images have been released from the game version of James Cameron’s first feature film since Titanic – namely Avatar, for the two of you who didn’t know. According to the Daily Telegraph, where the image above originates, producer Jon Landau also teased on how the game and film are being developed, saying that the same designers and artists are working on both projects, designing lush landscapes featuring rainforests with 300m-tall trees, floating mountain ranges and massive stone archways.

According to the report, Avatar is set in the 22nd century, on a moon called Pandora which orbits a giant gas planet, where humans can’t breathe the air.

A paralysed marine played by Terminator Salvation’s Sam Worthington agrees to exist as an Avatar, a genetically engineered hybrid controlled with a mental link.

Below is a video captured by G4 at E3, featuring director Cameron discussing the Avatar game.

If all of this isn’t enough to hold you over until some images/video from the live-action film are released at San Diego Comic-Con’s 40th this summer, visit the official website for the Avatar game at avatargame.us.ubi.com, where you can see screenshots like the one below.
