Newly restored in 4K to coincide with its 40th anniversary, the 1984 film Stop Making Sense was directed by filmmaker Jonathan Demme and is considered by many critics to be the greatest concert film of all time. Stop Making Sense stars core band members David Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz and Jerry Harrison along with Bernie Worrell, Alex Weir, Steve Scales, Lynn Mabry and Edna Holt. The live performance was shot over the course of three nights at Hollywood’s Pantages Theater in December of 1983 and features Talking Heads’ most memorable songs, such as Burning Down the House from the album Speaking in Tongues (1983), Once in a Lifetime from the album Remain in Light (1980), Life During Wartime from the album Fear of Music (1979), Psycho Killer from the album Talking Heads: 77 (1977), Take Me to the River from the album More Songs About Buildings and Food (1978), Girlfriend Is Better from the album Speaking in Tongues (1983), And She Was from the album Little Creatures (1985), Love > Building on Fire from the album Love > Building on Fire Single (1977), This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody), from the album Speaking in Tongues (1983), and Road to Nowhere from the album Little Creatures (1985).
