Twisted Pictures and Lions Gate Films have announced the theatrical release date of Saw 3. The film is set to cut into theaters on October 27 and will be directed by Darren Lynn Bousman, who helmed part 2 of the franchise, with story again by Leigh Whannell and James Wan. The Saw franchise, about a psychotic genius that puts his victims in death traps in an effort to teach them life’s little lessons, has generated nearly 250 million dollars in worldwide box office.
Let’s face it. This was inevitable. I just hope they don’t beat this thing into the ground to quickly. These sequels are coming faster than a speeding Friday the 13th film.
Tobin Bell, who plays Jigsaw, is attached to the project, along with Shawnee Smith, who played his protege killer/companion, Amanda, in Saw 2.
