All The King’s Men is based on a novel by Robert Penn Warren. that details the life of populist Southerner Willie Stark, a political creature loosely based on Governor Huey Long of Louisiana. was an immensely popular politician noted for his radical policies. The real Long created the Share Our Wealth program in 1934, with the motto “Every Man a King,” and proposed income redistribution measures in order to curb the poverty and crime that came as a result of the Great Depression.
