Jamie Foxx goes hunting for Leonardo DiCaprio in Django Unchained trailer, with James Brown, Johnny Cash…and a silent “D”

The Weinstein Company has revealed a teaser trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s western epic Django Unchained, giving fans a first glimpse of the Sergio Leone – Sergio Corbucci – and spaghetti western-inspired movie about a freed slave-turned-bounty hunter (Jamie Foxx), who’s trying to save his wife from a vicious plantation owner (Leonardo DiCaprio). Inglourious Basterds’ star Christoph Waltz joins the party as a German doctor that buys Django’s freedom and mentors him in his new line of work. The iconic music of Johnny Cash and James Brown coats the hilariously-action packed trailer, which features such Quentin Tarantino-signature lines as “The D is silent,” which Foxx’s character Django says to a fellow bar patron at one point.

Django Unchained, which opens Christmas Day, also stars Kerry Washington, Don Johnson, Samuel L. Jackson, Zoe Bell, James Remar, Franco Nero, Walton Goggins, Bruce Dern, James Russo, RZA, Tom Savini and M.C. Gainey.
