Rob Zombie and Wes Craven to appear at 10th Annual New York City Horror Film Festival

Horror, suspense and fantasy will be taking over the Tribeca Cinemas during the 10th annual New York City Horror Film Festival. More than 60 shorts and feature films will be presented in 12 programs beginning Thursday, November 8th. As the country’s most respected horror film festival, independent filmmakers from across the globe come to screen their work in our competition series where their films will be shown to sold out crowds of fans and industry professionals.

On Friday, November 9th, Rob Zombie will be in attendance to accept an award for Personal Achievement in Direction. Additionally, on Saturday, November 10th, the festival will honor Wes Craven with a Lifetime Achievement award ceremony. In both cases, Zombie and Craven will each surprise the audience with a special “Director’s Choice” screening of one of their films. Award ceremonies are traditional to the New York City Horror Film Festival, as these honors have been bestowed upon those who have made significant contributions to the genre. Past winners have included some of the horror greats from George Romero to Robert Englund. As is customary, Zombie and Craven will do a short Q&A after accepting their perspective awards.

Other highlights include a festival kick off party on Wednesday night, November 7th, with an evening bash at the club TIMES SCARES (669 Eight Avenue) – the only club in New York City with its own haunted house. On Sunday, November 11th we will also feature a filmmaker discussion panel.

The full program will be announced and tickets will go on sale in early October. For locations, directions and more information, visit NYCHorrorfest.com.
