New images from groundbreaking Filipino horror movie The Road

Four new stills have been released from filmmaker Yam Laranas’ critically acclaimed Filipino horror flick The Road, which will have its U.S. premiere – hosted by boxer Manny Pacquiao – on May 9th in Los Angeles.

The Road tells the story of a twelve-year-old cold case that is reopened when three teenagers vanish while traversing an infamous and abandoned road. As investigators try to find leads to the whereabouts of the missing teens, they also unearth the road’s gruesome past that spans two decades – a history of abduction, crimes and murders. The Road was directed by Yam Laranas, from a script he co-wrote with Aloy Adlawan. The film stars Carminga Villaroel, Rhian Ramos, TJ Trinidad, Barbie Fortenza, Lexi Fernandez, Derick Monasterio, Alden Richards, Louise de los Reyes and Renz Valerio.

The film will be one of the first all-Filipino movie projects to be commercially released in mainstream cinemas across the U.S., when it debuts in 16 markets theatrically – including New York and Los Angeles – on May 11th.
