Months before the June 8th release of Ridley Scott’s sci-fi epic Prometheus, little is still known about the 3-D tentpole, whose ensemble cast includes Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron and Idris Elba. The LA Times nabbed a few details on the secret project from writer Damon Lindelof, a Lost alumni who also worked on Cowboys & Aliens.
Prometheus was initially billed as a prequel to Ridley Scott’s 1979 cult classic Alien, but Scott and distributor 20th Century Fox, have since tried to distance it from that label. What’s known is that Prometheus centers on a group of explorers seeking the origins of human civilization to save future generations of mankind, and they’re spacecraft is the film’s namesake, “Prometheus”.
