Billy Zane and Ron Perlman start shooting Scorpion King 3

Production has started in Thailand on The Scorpion King 3, a second sequel to Universal Pictures 2002 fantasy action film, according to Film Business Asia.

The Scorpion King 3 stars Billy Zane, Ron Perlman, Dave Batista and Kimbo Slice. According to the report, the female leads include Thai starlet Krystal Vee and the UK actress and martial artist Selina Lo. Directed by Roel Reine (who also has Death Race 2 coming out January 2011), the film is shooting at Kanchanaburi, Buriram and studios in Bangkok, and will continue through the first week of December.

The essentially undisclosed plot involves the hunt for a medallion.
