Even though it’s strapped with an uncertain future, MGM is launching its first ever digital series, called 10,000 Days.

Shot entirely on Blue Screen using RED cameras, 10,000 Days follows the survivors of a devastating comet collision as they endure Mother Nature’s brutal conditions, lack of resources and the demons that arise in all of us under desperate circumstances.

The show was created by Eric Small – director of the Belgium fantasy film The Dust Factory and producer of Penn & Teller: Bullshit! – and stars John Schneider, Peter Wingfield, James Harvey Ward, Kelsey Sanders, Kim Myers, Lisa Pelikan, Darin Heames, Wilmer Calderon, Kasey Campbell, Kenneth Meseroll, Jacqueline Wright and Blake Randall.

MGM is giving away $1,000 for the video that best answers this question:

How would you stop Comet 23 from colliding with the Earth?

Upload a video describing your plan to win 10,000 dimes ($1,000 cash).

You have the combined resources of humankind and every available technology, both known and yet-to-be-known, at your disposal. Submit a video detailing your plan to save the world from “Comet 23”. If your plan is chosen as the most innovative and effective strategy to prevent the comet from colliding with our planet, not only will you have saved the world, but you will be rewarded $1,000 for your heroism.
