Clive Owen is attached to star in the thriller Cartagena, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Mark Cuban’s 2929 is handling production and distribution for Cartagena.

Michael Ross, who wrote the Brazilian-set thriller Turistas for Fox and who’s working on a remake of the film Jar City, is writing the screenplay.

Cartagena revolves around an undercover agent (Owen) inside Colombian drug cartels, who gets caught in a complex plot and must elude the dealers, as well as international agents in order to survive.

Owen will next be featured in Tom Tykwer’s upcoming global finance thriller The International and Scott Hicks’ single-parent drama The Boys Are Back.

Film Fetish Trivia: Clive Owen is attached to two highly anticipated sequels, due in 2010 – Inside Man 2 and Sin City 2, where he is expected to reprise his roles as Dalton Russell and Dwight McCarthy, respectively.
