Pirate epic Captain Blood remake on the way too?

Variety reports that yet another remake is on way. Warner Bros. has hired John Brownlow (Sylvia) to script the upcoming remake of the classic pirate epic Captain Blood. Philip Noyce, who helmed Clear and Present Danger, The Saint, Patriot Games and more recently Catch a Fire, is developing the project, and may direct also.

Errol Flynn starred in the 1935 original swashbuckler, which was helmed by Michael Curtiz, and told the story of a doctor wrongly sentenced to slavery in the Caribbean, where he becomes avenging pirate leader.

Below is the musical trailer for the 1935 version of Captain Blood.
