Poltergeist remake close to landing director

The Hollywood Reporter followed up on a Bloody-Disgusting.com story about Vadim Perelman being in negotiations to develop MGM’s Poltergeist remake as a potential directing vehicle. If it happens, Perelman would join writers Juliet Snowden and Stiles White, who came on board last week to revamp the 1982 classic horror film.

The original Poltergeist was directed by Tobe Hooper (original Texas Chain Saw Massacre), from a story by Steven Spielberg, about a family’s home being haunted by a variety of ghosts, who ultimately kidnap their youngest daughter.
