Comic Wonder looking to award funny folks with prizes and big time exposure

Hey all you radio personalities out there, come on, don’t be coy, admit it—you’re a laugh riot and you split everyone’s sides the second you open your mouth.

But why just leave your comic genius at that? Why not get some cold, hard cash ($1,000), a giant, mantle worthy trophy and an all expenses paid trip to the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Radio Show in Austin, Texas? Just by being your hilarious self, you could get all these goodies and the kind of massive exposure that could take your career to a whole new exciting level. So what are you waiting for?

ComicWonder.com, the world’s first and only online competitive audio joke telling arena, is partnering with McVay Media and NAB to search for the funniest radio personality on the planet.

So here’s the deal. If you’re a radio personality and think you’re a scream, prove it by visiting www.radioscomicwonder.com before August 31, 2008 and tell your best joke. You can submit original jokes of up to three minutes over the phone.

Visitors to the Comic Wonder website vote on the performances and help choose Radio’s Comic Wonder.

“The best morning shows are the ones that make people laugh,” says Daniel Anstandig, President of McVay New Media. “Finding and identifying top radio talent continues to be a top priority. We believe that this contest can help some great talent get the attention they deserve.”

Comic Wonder will announce the winner at the NAB Radio Show in Austin, TX on September 18, 2008.

Beyond the laughs generated by the contest, Comic Wonder is looking to showcase its contesting platform to radio stations across the country. The site is currently partnering with first-tier stations to host local joke-telling contests that feed into the 2008 Comic Wonder of the Year contest, which launches in November.

103.7 KISS-FM (WXSS), a Milwaukee Entercom station, is the first partner to come online with Comic Wonder.
