Action icons Tony Jaa and Simon Yam team up for martial arts thriller Kill Zone 2, check out the trailer

Well Go USA is set to release action star Tony Jaa’s latest martial arts crime thriller Kill Zone 2. The film is directed by Soi Cheang, working from a script by Jill Leung Lai Yin and Wong Ying and stars Jaa (Ong-Bak, The Protector), along with Hong Kong megastars Wu Jing, Simon Yam, Zhang Jin (Ip Man 3) and Louis Koo.

Kill Zone 2 centers on an undercover cop (Tony Jaa) who gets close to revealing the mastermind of a drug syndicate before his cover is blown. Double-crossed and under a false identity, he’s thrown into a Thai prison, where a guard discovers the inmate – claiming he’s a cop – is a bone marrow match for his dying daughter…and his warden may have an even deadlier operation hidden within the prison walls.

This frenetic follow-up to modern martial arts epic Kill Zone (aka SPL: Sha Po Lang) is not being labeled a sequel. It’s described as a breakneck story of dirty cops, prison riots and black market organ transplants, all brought together by a non-stop series of inventive, bone-crunching set pieces.
