More about Sauna

Russia and Sweden fought 10 wars over a 300-year period beginning in the late 15th Century. One of them, a 25-year struggle that ended in 1595 and wreaked devastation on neighboring Finland, is the setting for Sauna. The brutal war has just ended and brothers Erik and Knut, one of them a hardened veteran of the conflict, roam the swampy terrain, part of a detachment commissioned to map the new border between Finland and Russia.

During their lonely, difficult trek through the wilderness, the brothers (Ville Virtanen and Tommi Eronen) come upon a young girl and commit a terrible sin, leaving her to die an agonizing death. But as the brothers continue on their mission, they become haunted by their actions and seek relief in a mysterious little village, where an ominous Sauna offers them the faint hope that they can simply wash away their sins.

In theatres these days, people can’t seem to sit still and the whispering, giggling, chewing sounds are just to annoying.

AT home I have peace and quiet and watch either on satellite TV or on DVDs.

PS. It is also easier to pause the movie while I get another cup of tea !

    Thanks

  37. Teresa W. says:

I have a subscription to Netflix so I watch my DVD\’s at home, I only go to the theatres if there is something I really want to see!

  38. d.e. manning says:

At home on DVD via Netflix; with an occassional new release at the theater. the audience only detracts from the viewing experience imho.

  39. Christina says:

I like watching films on DVD’s at home!

  40. Karen P says:

I prefer to watch movies at home because I hate people talking during the movie. I generally watch DVD’s. It would be better if I had a really good home theater set up, but I’ll take what I have over being annoyed by rude people. Plus a lot of the movies I like don’t make it to the theaters around here.

  41. Katie Rysz says:

I prefer to watch movies at home nowadays. I have a really awesome bluray and DVD movie collection and my husband is OBSESSED with having the TV at optimum sound and color. We went to the local theater (an AMC) and not only did the place stink, the projectionist that was running it was not paying attention. The colors were off and the film was out of focus.

  42. David says:

Foreing movies are far more interesting than local ones, differente perspective, out of the body experience or don\’t know, bu ti like them very much!!

and this kind of movies i love to see tehm on my house, on a DVD player so i can rewind or pause when something in the subtitles isnt clear or dissapirs too fast

  43. Gef says:

I watch movies primarily at home rather than theaters due to cost. At home, it’s mostly DVDs … unless there’s something on TV at night that is especially enticing.

I prefer to watch at home by Netflix so much easier to never have late fees and you get free streaming like you would for any movie channel

I like the experience of seeing a movie in theaters, but for sheer convenience I prefer watching them at home on DVD at my own leisure.

  46. DeeAnn S says:

I prefer to watch movies at home on cable TV. It\’s great to be able to pause the movie, take a leak or get a drink/food without missing a part of the movie. You don\’t have a bunch of people yabbering around you or walking in front of you, too many distractions at a theater. And I can watch it anytime I want! Thanks.

  47. Jarrod says:

At home, on Blu-ray and DVD.

  48. Tracy Robertson says:

Ahhh, there is nothing as nice as lying in bed at the end of a long day and popping a DVD into the player and watching a movie at home, in bed. I also enjoy going to see a new movie in a theatre now and then for an outing with friends, but DVD’s at home are by far my favorite. I love snuggling up in the blankets and watching something spooky, and being able to pause and take a break or have a smoke any time that I like.

  49. Dan M says:

Even though I enjoy going to the movie theater watching a film in my own home is the best.Right now I use dvd but am planning on getting Blu-ray very soon.
