Friday the 13th Deluxe Editions

UPDATE (1/12): I have confirmed that we will be getting 2 of each part. That’s a total of SIX winners for this contest!

I can just hear it now. That classic music…heek heek heek….hak hak hak, played on that low budget synthesizer. But it was great though. Friday the 13th changed horror forever, influences pop culture to this day, and gives James Bond a run for his money, as one of the longest running movie franchises in film history.

In conjunction with the release of the Friday the 13th remake hitting theaters on Friday, February 13th 2009, on February 3rd, Paramount Home Entertainment will release the cult classic horror Friday the 13th on DVD and Blu-ray, for the first time ever completely uncut, along with Friday the 13th: Part 2 and Friday the 13th: Part 3 in 3-D hit on Deluxe Edition DVDs.

Here’s the deal. We’ll be getting some DVD versions to giveaway, but I’m not sure which we’ll be getting, or how many. I’ll update this post, as soon as I confirm that. However, I want to get this contest started right away, as I know many of you are cult horror fanatics.

In order to win at least one copy of these horror classics, here’s are the three things you have to do:

More about the disc releases

A trio of terrifying horror classics featuring one of the most indelible villains in film history is coming to DVD as they’ve never been seen before. On February 3, 2009 Paramount Home Entertainment unleashes Friday the 13th Uncut – Deluxe Edition, Friday the 13th 2 – Deluxe Edition and, for the first time ever in 3-D on DVD, Friday the 13th Part 3 3-D – Deluxe Edition. The DVDs feature a pristine digitally remastered picture and crystal clear 5.1 Surround Sound, plus all new bonus materials with collectible limited edition lenticular packaging. Also, for the first time, terror and suspense abound when a violent killer stalks Camp Crystal Lake in unmatchable picture and sound as Friday The 13th Uncut brings the franchise’s potent mix of suspense and shocking violence to Blu-ray.

Friday the 13th Uncut – Deluxe Edition features the uncensored version of the film that defined the 1980s slasher film phenomenon. Never before released on DVD in the U.S., Friday the 13th Uncut – Deluxe Edition features ten hair-raising seconds of blood and gore that was deemed too gruesome for audiences during the film’s original theatrical showing.

A terrifying tale about a machete-wielding killer who carves a grisly swath through a group of teenaged summer camp counselors, Friday the 13th Uncut – Deluxe Edition stars Kevin Bacon, Laurie Bartram, Harry Crosby, Adrienne King, Robbi Morgan, Mark Nelson and Betsy Palmer. Both DVD and Blu-ray editions include exclusive behind-the-scenes bonus features, a cast and filmmaker reunion and more chilling fun.

The carnage continues in Friday the 13th Part 2 – Deluxe Edition, as Jason emerges from the shadowy woods surrounding Camp Crystal Lake to satisfy his bloodlust with a new crop of campers. Starring John Furey, Adrienne King and Amy Steel, Friday the 13th Part 2 – Deluxe Edition also includes brand new bonus features that add to the horror.

In Friday the 13th Part 3 3-D – Deluxe Edition, Jason wreaks murderous havoc on a motorcycle gang that dares to get between him and his nubile prey. The disc marks the first time this blood-splattered romp in the woods has been seen in all its gory three-dimensional splendor on DVD. The disc comes with 2 pairs of 3-D glasses to ensure an optimal viewing experience, plus a 2-D version of the film. Friday the 13th Part 3 3-D – Deluxe Edition stars Dana Kimmell, Paul Kratka, Nick Savage and Richard Brooker.

18 Responses to Win copies of the original Uncut Friday the 13th, Friday the 13th Part 2 or Friday the 13th Part 3 Deluxe Editions on DVD

  1. Alejandro Sosa says:

My Favorite Grindhouse film is the insanely brutal and just plain cool classic from 1978 “I Spit on Your Grave”

  2. SharonAnne says:

I would have to say the original “Night of the Living Dead”. I saw it at the drive-in coupled with “Last House on the Left” many decades ago and I’ll never forget it. Another one that sticks in my mind is the original “Texas Chainsaw Masacre”. I think I just gave away my age…

  3. Virgie says:

“Carrie” is my favorite horror film.

  4. Tracey says:

All the Saw movies are pretty awesome. I also like the Hostel movies. My favorite horror movie is Poltergeist, though.

  5. Film Toodler says:

The Town That Dreaded Sundown? Oh shit, that sounds interesting!

  6. Maria P. says:

OMG – The Town that Dreaded Sundown scared the bejezus out of me.

  7. Marc says:

Blade 2, if you call that a horror movie. I do because it has vampires.

  8. G. says:

    The Shining

  9. Jeffrey W says:

    Halloween

  10. Film Toodler says:

Favorite is I Spit On Your Grave. I guess that would qualify.

  11. Melinda L Smith says:

I really liked the horror flick “Jennifer”. I really liked the ending,it took me by surprise.

  12. Francois says:

    “Cannibal Holocaust”

  13. Ken Robinson says:

The Exorcist. It frightens me at a primal level.

  14. Anne says:

    Candyman

    FREAKS me OUT!

  15. Debby Kulchar says:

I think all the Chucky movies are pretty freaky ad weird

  16. Aidan Louis says:

Trip With The Teacher–One of my favorite horror movies. Don’t know it’s because I always had a thing for my English Teacher, Mrs Tanner or if it’s just the artwork of the movie. Okay, it’s because of Mrs. Tanner. Not a mainstream movie like Halloween or Pscyho or Friday the 13th, but a good one.

  17. David Hollingsworth says:

My favorite Grindhouse horror film is easily “Last House on the Left”, because it is just so shocking in ways you couldn’t even imagine, and the violence in the film could be considered very important to the story.

  18. Kaycee says:

Hand down, Halloween. The first one. Rob Zombie’s wasnt bad, I appreciated the nod to it, but the first can’t be beat.
