Paramount Pictures has bought film rights to Robert Kirkman’s teen-superhero comic Invincible and set up the potential franchise starter with Lorenzo Di Bonaventura and Circle of Confusion, reports Variety.
Kirkman will write the screen story, based on the bestselling Image Comic series about the coming of age of teenager Mark Grayson, son of the world’s most powerful superhero. The story will focus on the father/son dynamic during the time that the son, who appears to be a normal teen, begins to exhibit his father’s powers.
Di Bonaventura is also handling producing duties on Warner Bros.’ current release Constantine and Universal Pictures upcoming Doom, which is due out this summer. Circle of Confusion is producing Magic Kingdom for Sale and Jinx at Universal and Awful End at Warner Bros.
