Conan and Predators reboot films get new directors

Variety has apparently confirmed an initial report by CHUD, that director Marcus Nispel (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Friday the 13th remakes) will direct a new Conan film.

The Conan project has gone through the hands of everyone from Brett Ratner (The Rush Hour films) to The Wachowski Brothers (The Matrix trilogy, Speed Racer), so we’ll see if this one sticks. Based on Nispel’s previous work, I sure hope so.

More exciting is news from Bloody Disgusting that Neil Marshall, cult film lover and director of The Descent, Doomsday and the upcoming Centurion, is in negotiations to direct the Robert Rodriguez produced Predators. The prospect of British-born exploitation fanatic Marshall and the Tex-Mex badass Rodriguez working together, is certainly enough to get my interest.
