Filmmaker Wayne Kramer (Crossing Over, Running Scared, The Cooler) has been tapped to direct the crime thriller Pretty Boy Floyd, according to the RiskyBusiness Blog.
Kevin Bernhardt wrote the screenplay based on the life of notorious bank robber Charles Arthur Floyd, who committed numerous robberies and other crimes around Kansas City and the Midwest in the late 1920s and 1930s – obtaining the nickname “The Robin Hood of the Cookson Hills” along the way – before his death in 1934 at the age of 30.
“Pretty Boy” posthumously went on to become a folk legend after Woody Guthrie hailed him in the song “The Ballad of Pretty Boy Floyd” in 1939.
Kramer is also currently attached to direct the action film Fully Automatic for producer Joel Silver and Warner Bros.
