Written and directed by Christopher Fox, RUB centers on Neal (Micah Spayer), a lonely everyman. He meets Lola (Jennifer Figuereo), a sex worker with whom he forms an unlikely bond after visiting a massage parlor at the suggestion of a co-worker. In the process, Neal’s life changes in ways he never would have imagined.
Westley Barrington Artope (The Get Down) and PJ Landers (Kingpin) round out the cast of RUB. Fox’s Stupid Ears Films produced the film in conjunction with Cellar Door Films, and Charlie Comparetto and Antoine Allen served as executive producers.
Rub had its world premiere at the Big Apple Film Festival and Fox took home the Best Director Award at the 2023 Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente de Madrid. The film debuts on Cable VOD and Digital HD, including iTunes, Amazon, Vudu, Comcast and Verizon, on August 1, 2023.
