#RaceMovie Jesse Owens story comes to the big screen with Focus Features’ biopic Race


Focus Features has shared the official poster and trailer for the upcoming Jesse Owens biopic Race. Based on the incredible true story of Olympic Gold Medal Champion Jesse Owens (played by Stephan James), this inspiring film takes you on Jesse Owens’ courageous journey to become the greatest track and field athlete in history, while facing off against Adolf Hitler’s vision of Aryan supremacy during the 1936 Olympics.

Race tells the story of the legendary athletic superstar whose quest to become the greatest track and field athlete in history thrusts him onto the world stage. It is a story of courage, determination, tolerance, and friendship, and an inspiring drama about one man’s fight to become an Olympic legend.

Race is directed by Stephen Hopkins and stars Stephan James, Jason Sudeikis, Jeremy Irons, Carice van Houten, Shanice Banton and William Hurt. Hopkins worked from a script co-written by Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse.
