Electric Boogaloo: The Wild, Untold Story of Cannon Films finally out on DVD

I know I’m a little late coming to the party, but I don’t care, I’m announcing this anyway. I just found out that Electric Boogaloo: The Wild, Untold Story of Cannon Films, is finally available on DVD in the U.S. and on Blu-ray everywhere else.

Filmmaker Mark Hartley’s homage to the company that put the word “cult” in cult cinema, can now be enjoyed in the comfort of your own home, via Warner Home Video. Hartley takes fans on a hilarious thrill ride through the masterworks of Yoram Globus and the late Menahem Golan, two movie-obsessed Israeli immigrant cousins who became Hollywood’s ultimate gate-crashers. With hair-trigger randomness, these cousins of chaos churned out a breathtaking cavalcade of hits and misses, made movies out of posters, released a sequel before the original film, botched plots, bounced checks and burned careers – and in so doing, changed the way movies were made and marketed forever.

Electric Boogaloo: The Wild, Untold Story of Cannon Films features appearances by Sam Firstenberg, David Paulsen, Luigi Cozzi, Menahem Golan, Alain Jakubowicz, Itzik Kol, Michael Hartman, Quentin Falk, Boaz Davidson, William Stout, David Womark, Sybil Danning, Roni Ya’ackov, Yftach Katzur, Dan Wolman, Christopher C.
