E One nabs rights to post-apocalyptic war action thriller The Day

Content Film has announced that Entertainment One has nabbed rights in certain countries to the post-apocalyptic war action thriller The Day, directed by Doug Aarniokoski, written by Luke Passmore and produced by Guy A. Danella (The Fourth Kind). The film was also bought by Japan’s Nettai Museum.

An open war against humanity rages in The Day, with five survivors lost and on the run. The pursuit is relentless, the bullets are dwindling and the battle is everywhere. It’s a 24-hour look into the survivors’ lives: Fight or die.

The Day stars Shawn Ashmore (X-Men trilogy), Ashley Bell (The Last Exorcism), Michael Eklund (The Divide), Cory Hardrict (Battle Los Angeles, Gran Torino), Dominic Monaghan (The Lord of the Rings, Lost), Shannyn Sossamon (A Knight’s Tale, Rules of Attraction, 40 Days & 40 Nights) and is executive produced by Aarniokoski, Michael Finley, Tim James, Antonina Armato and Ross M. Dinerstein (The Pact, The Divide, The Killing Room).

The film is having its market premiere screening this week during the American Film Market.
