LLeju Productions head William O. Perkins announced that the company will release the film The Chameleon, from French director Jean-Paul Salomé (Les femmes de l’ombre, Arsène Lupin) in select theaters on June 10, 2011. The Chameleon will also be made available, day and date on VOD.

The Chameleon is based on the incredible true story of Frédéric Bourdin as depicted in the novel of the same title by Christophe D’Antonio, and premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. The film stars Ellen Barkin (Oceans 13, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas), Famke Janssen (the X-Men triology), Emilie de Ravin (Lost, Remember Me), Brian Geraghty (The Hurt Locker, Jarhead), Nick Stahl (Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Sin City), and Marc-André Grondin (C.R.A.Z.Y.).

This psychological drama features Barkin as a mother of a fractured family who welcomes home their son who had been missing for years. When the details of his sudden reappearance don’t quite add up, the suspicions of a determined FBI agent (Janssen) are raised. As pieces of a mysterious puzzle fall together, an unveiled past reveals deep and dark secrets. This bizarre true story is based off the best-selling novel by Christophe D’ Antonio.

The Chameleon was written by Salomé and Natalie Carter and produced by William O. Perkins, Ram Bergman, Cooper Richey, Marie-Castille Mention-Schaar and Pierre Kubel.
