Disney finds assassins with action comic adaptation Cowboy Ninja Viking

Disney has picked up film adaptation rights to an action comic titled Cowboy Ninja Viking, with Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick attached to write the script, according to THR. Mark Gordon, Management 360, Wernick, and Reese are attached to produce the project, which features a violent action story centering on an assassin with multiple personalities.

Cowboy Ninja Viking, created by writer AJ Lieberman and artist Riley Rossmo, was published by Image Comics and centers on Doctor Sebastian Ghislain, a psychotherapist who recruits Multiple Personality Disorder patients to produce a unit of counter-intelligence agents called Triplets. When they become out of control assassins, the deadliest Triplet of them all, Cowboy Ninja Viking, is called upon to take down his own brethren.

Since becoming hot commodities after working on Zombieland, writers Reese and Wernick have been tasked with coming up with a sequel to the film. They’ve also sold a pitch titled Earth vs. Moon, worked on the sequel to G.I. Joe, and most recently tweaked the Deadpool screenplay for Fox.
