Fearnet posted this intense poster for Godkiller: Walk Among Us, which is described as a dark, adult animation – in other words, something you probably don’t want to bring the kids to.
Godkiller: Walk Among Us is taking a form of Mag Pictures’ approach to film release schedules, going from DVD to cinema, then back to DVD again, bringing the episodic nature of comic books to disc releases. On October 6th: Episode 1 will premiere on a limited edition shortform DVD. Then on November 24th, Episode 2 will be released on a second limited edition shortform DVD. Then, on January 26th 2010, the complete feature film will have a theatrical premiere, along with Episode 3 being released to DVD. And finally, on March 30th 2010, the full feature comes to DVD and Blu-ray.
The animated film is described as the epic story of a boy on a quest to save his dying sister. Based on the comic book Matt Pizzolo created with Anna Muckcracker, Godkiller takes place in a dark-future after economic collapse, nuclear holy war, and Earth colonization by alien races. Tommy and his kid sister Lucy live in an orphanage in one of the few remaining city-states, but Lucy is critically ill and desperately in need of a new heart. Tommy’s odyssey to find a new heart for his sister begins when he follows an organ-stealing prostitute named Halfpipe out of the city-state and into the savage borderland known as Outer City. Godkiller mixes unforgiving brutality, quantum physics, conspiracy theory, and secret history for an iconoclastic hero journey.
