Sony Pictures and AEG Entertainment have released the first movie poster for Michael Jackson’s This Is It, which will be based on the enormous amount of footage that had been captured of Jackson, as he rehearsed for his comeback tour. Director Kenny Ortega has wrapped the material into a theatrical presentation that will be released in movie theaters on October 28th, 2009. The documentary will apparently offer a rare glimpse into the final days of Michael Jackson, with the centerpiece being the estimated 80 hours of rehearsal and behind-the-scenes footage of the legendary entertainer, as he prepared for his 50 sold-out shows at London’s O2 Arena, which were scheduled to begin in July of this year, before his untimely death in June at the age of 50.
According to the film’s official website at www.thisisittickets.com, the film will be in theaters for two weeks, and tickets go on sale beginning Sunday, September 27th, 2009.
