Thomas Dekker – who plays the teenage John Connor on the possibly cancelled Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles – is in final negotiations to join the cast of A Nightmare on Elm Street reboot, as a character named Jesse, a jock on the high school swim team., according to ShockTillYouDrop. He would join Jackie Earle Haley and Kyle Gallner, both of whom are officially attached to the project, with Haley playing the new Freddy Krueger.
Dekker will next be seen in next week’s DVD release of the horror film Laid to Rest, directed by Rob Hall. According to the report, the actor also recently wrapped the horror-comedy All About Evil in San Francisco.
Director Michael Bay’s (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen) production outfit Platinum Dunes is overseeing the production of the remake, with Samuel Bayer (Fiasco Heights) directing the shoot, which starts next month in Chicago.
