Bond creator and British spy Ian Fleming to get biopic treatment

Writer John Orloff, who scripted the acclaimed terrorism drama A Mighty Heart, has been hired to ink the screenplay for the film Fleming, a biopic about the exploits of James Bond creator Ian Fleming, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Leonardo DiCaprio’s production company is producing the movie at Warner Bros.

The film will look at critical moments in the life of the British Naval intelligence officer-turned-author, and is based on a spec by Damian Stevenson.

Ian Fleming wrote the first James Bond novel, Casino Royale, in 1953 and went on to write a total of 14 Bond books featuring the dashing spy. Among them were Live and Let Die, The Spy Who Loved Me and Goldfinger.
