TRIVIA
High Tension is a French language film that Luc Besson’s (La Femme Nikita) Europa produced and released in France in 2003. Lions Gate Films purchased the U.S. distribution rights in 2004.
Lions Gate cut 1 minute for the U.S. theatrical release of High Tension, to get an "R" rating and also dubbed the film in English using Marie’s real voice for her part. New Koren Special Edition 2-disc set is uncut with English subtitles. There is also a PAL disc from Hong Kong that is uncut and in English.
Alexandre Aja was nominated for the Grand Prize of European Fantasy Film in Gold at the Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival in 2004 for High Tension.
High Tension was shot in Bucharest, Romania.
