Halo 3 Trailer

With the Halo film coming out in 2008 and the convergence of gaming and film becoming more and more inevitable, it follows that the trailer for the next Halo game incarnation would be more cinematic than ever.

In Halo 3, Master Chief returns to earth, now devastated by the Covenant, to finish the fight started in Haloand Halo 2.

Wanna know more about Halo, the movie? Here’s what I know:

Synopsis:
After they crash-land on the ring-world called Halo, a marine captain, his surviving marines, and a genetically-and-surgically-enhanced supersoldier called Master Chief must find out what the Covenant, the genocidal alien race they are at war with, are looking for on the ring.

Crew:
South African filmmaker Neill Blomkamp has been tapped by producer Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings trilogy) to helm the film. His only other directing credit is a film called Alive in Joburg, about a close encounter of the third kind in Johannesburg.

A script revision was completed by D.B. Weiss, who also wrote the script for the upcoming Ender’s Game, based on the sci-fi novel by Orson Scott Card. Ender’s Game is to be directed by Wolfgang Petersen.

No casting has been formally announced.

Release Date:
Halo the film is set for a July 2008 release date. Universal Pictures is distributing. 20th Century Fox and Universal are co-producing.
