NEW Ghost in the Shell Film and Trailers

Production I.G is prepping a new Ghost in the Shell film called Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex – Solid State Society. It will debut in Japan this September and then in the U.S. and Europe in 2007.

The film takes place in 2034, two years after the refugee riot incident from Stand Alone Complex. A significantly larger Section 9, with over 20 new officers, investigates terrorist actions related to a wizard-like hacker “Kugutsu Mawashi.”

One thing that will definitely stand out in Solid State Society are the cars that will be featured. Japanese automaker Nissan and Production I.G. have collaborated for Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex – Solid State Society. The science-fiction film stars both a former special agent and two concept vehicles: theNissan Sport Concept and Infiniti Kuraza (both originally introduced in 2005 at the Detroit Auto Show).

The preview page has two really cool extended trailers from the film, as well as two clips featuring the concept vehicles in action.
