Jet Li’s Fearless Trailer

Another film about ethnic identity… only Jet Li in Fearless (Huo Yuan Jia) wears his cultural heritage with great pride. In Fearless, Jet Li plays a Martial Artist who dreams of continuing the legacy his father established as a world-class fighter in China. After reaching his goal, personal tragedy causes him to disappear for several years. He’s not heard from until the honor of defending his country in an international tournament surfaces. This film tells the true story of Chinese Martial Arts Master Huo Yuanjia (1869-1910). Huo Yuanjia was the founder and spiritual guru of the Jin Wu Sports Federation.

What saddens me is that Fearless is being billed as Jet Li’s last epic Martial Arts film. I hope that’s not true. I know that right now, he’s filming the movie Rogue, the highly anticipated action flick with Jason “The Transporter” Statham.

Ronny Yu (Warriors of Virtue, The Bride with White Hair) helmed Fearless, which hits theaters on August 4, 2006. Yu is currently at work on Blood: The Last Vampire, an English-language adaptation of the best-selling Japanese manga comic series, and Anime film.
