The Namesake Trailer

The Namesake focuses on American-born Gogol, who is trying to break away from his Indian heritage, by doing things like dating a blond and shaving off his hair. However, his very traditional family shows him some things he may have overlooked about himself, which begins the journey to find and accept himself.

The Namesake is directed by Mira Nair, who helmed Monsoon Wedding, Vanity Fair, and HBO’s Hysterical Blindness. It hits U.S. theaters on November 3, 2006.
