Monsters vs. Aliens going mobile AND 3D in 2009

Glu Mobile today announced an agreement with DreamWorks Animation to develop and publish a mobile game to launch in conjunction with the March 2009 film release of the 3D animated film Monsters vs. Aliens, which will be one of DreamWorks’ first 3D titles. The film reinvents the classic ‘50s monster movie into an irreverent modern day action comedy.

The film includes an all-star cast including Reese Witherspoon as Ginormica, a larger-than-life woman, Hugh Laurie as Dr. Cockroach, Ph.D., Seth Rogen, as the jellylike B.O.B. and Will Arnett as the half-ape, half-fish Missing Link. Kiefer Sutherland will speak for General W.R. Monger and Stephen Colbert portrays the President of the United States.

Today’s announcement marks the second business collaboration between Glu and DreamWorks. Glu is developing the mobile game for Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, which will launch worldwide in conjunction with the film’s U.S. premiere on November 7, 2008.
